36 The Gang-Leader

Now Sedoso had said something about the sewers, probabley where she goes for her fun at night...and so we went past there and got jummped by these THUGS! The area just isnt safe and the milita are just not up to their job! So here it was with some half-uthgardt savage who called himself 'The GangLeader'. My finest hour had come and ...we wage war. ahh thats it really.....well, I did run off and tomi didnt follow ugghh! but that was tactical as i was being hurt. So then i rejoined as Tomi was getting a right battering and ahh...gulp...well then Tomi abadoned me with the brute! He just faded away into the shadow hiding like a shadow thief! Thanks a bundle buster! So wetting myself i fort the badly wounded savage and...won. Killed him stone dead! he was rather rough with me though and I was convered in bruises! So victorious and triumphant i stood there in the night all alone, but searching his remains I could not find any snaggleblasted key to the prison door....umm decided to go shopping...good idea! I was looking for a magic ring of insight which increases Lore and you can use it to find out what some things are by matching the symbols carved minutly upon it! I went to the safe quarter of the district and tried the Priest of Helm was was trying to dole out blessings to anything that moved - nope. So I tried the merchant and he sold me one which i put on, identified a few items and then sold them to him - haaa haaa such craftfulness! Then I had enough money to buy...Amor Bracers +1 armor-modifer (ie would clash with enchanted armor). Well alas not my problem so I put them on and my a/c became a rather respectable 24. If you get an ac of 30+ you are a tank, kind of.
